Varsity Lakes a vibrant lakeside village

Varsity Lakes is one of southeast Queensland’s most desirable commercial, retail, dining and residential hotspots, with Market Square home to some of the Gold Coast’s finest boutiques, restaurants and convenience stores.

Showcasing a vibrant retail and dining hub and located on the banks of the magnificent Lake Orr, Market Square is a ‘one-stop-shop’ and features stylish fashion and beauty boutiques, handy convenience retail stores and an array of culinary options ranging from fine dining, to cosy cafes and takeaway options for the time poor.

Complementing the Varsity Lakes cosmopolitan environment is the newly completed $40 million stage 2 of The Chancellor Conference Centre & Executive Apartments which will now provide a total of 86 executive apartments and 3,800m˛ of commercial space.

On the retail front, in early September Varsity Lakes will be opening its first community bank, a Bendigo Bank Community Branch where under the Bendigo Bank’s Community Bank® model, the community raises capital to establish the branch through a public share offer.

From hair and beauty services to the latest fashion, an IGA, newsagent, florist, video store, pharmacy, medical centre and more, Market Square has it all in one convenient location.

Market Square’s dining options cater for a wide variety of tastes, including modern Australian, Indian, Asian, Italian, seafood and with a Subway set to open soon, Varsity Lakes is spoilt for choice.

Recently, the first restaurant to open at Varsity Lakes, the Lake Café and Bar was allocated two awards - the Best Chef/Owner restaurant and Best Café/Restaurant award from the prestigious Restaurant Catering Queensland.

Late December 2007 also saw the opening of Hotel CBD, a boutique tavern in the 1520sqm premises in Market Square.

With a $5 million fitout, Hotel CBD, in the Varsity Central business precinct, can accommodate up to 1,000 patrons in its dining area, sports bar and lounge. The expansive venue also has 40 gaming machines, TAB facilities and the amenities to host live entertainment.

Varsity Lakes has also continued its award winning reputation as one of Australia’s best communities with over $250 million in infrastructure and commercial investments currently under development.

This includes the Queensland Government’s new $123 million transport hub and railway station confirmed for Varsity Lakes, which looks set to continue the escalation in business relocations to Varsity Lakes.

Developments under construction includes the $40 million Bermuda Point Commercial Office Development, the $60 million Main Street Residential Tower and the $19 million Aspect which includes three levels of high demand commercial office space.

Upon completion Varsity Lakes will comprise 3000 homes, more than 343 hectares and up to 100,000sqm of commercial space in its town centre, Varsity Central. It will become home to 7800 residents and 4500 employees.
